2023 Annual Expansion Irrigation Acres
The Western Irrigation District currently has 4000 Annual Expansion Acres available for the 2023 irrigation season. The Annual Expansion Irrigation Acres are for irrigators looking to have a yearly agreement that may eventually become permanent. Anybody looking to expand their irrigation plans are encouraged to contact the WID Office. Please note the following application information:

An irrigator or economic unit may apply for a maximum allowable of 155 acres of annual acres.

A $300 non-refundable annual agreement application fee will be charged on each application. The application fee must be paid for the application to be completed. Only complete applications will be processed.

An annual expansion acre capital and administration fee of $38.00 per acre shall be applied to each annual agreement for acres eligible for conversion to irrigation acres under the District’s expansion limit or proposed expansion limit. The capital and administration fees are payable simultaneously as the annual agreement rate.

In its sole discretion, the District may apply a $30.00 per acre credit to capital assets charges or capital construction charges payable under a future successful application for expansion irrigation acres by the irrigator on the parcel of land for which the annual agreement was granted and the annual expansion acre capital and administrative fee was paid.

Subject to the IDA, an annual agreement application must meet all requirements within the current WID ADM 56 Policy.

The application is subject to Section 95 of the IDA.

The Annual agreement is subject to subsection 16 (3) of the IDA, and without limiting the generality of those statutory conditions, shall be for a term of one year expiring at the end of the 2023 calendar year.

The annual agreement rate and annual expansion acre capital and administration fee shall be paid in full before the commencement of irrigation or any water use whatsoever.

Deadline for Annual Expansion Acres in March 10, 2023 with all documents complete with signatures and the balance of Capital Assets and Administration Fees paid in full prior to April 30, 2023.
